GHOSTS or Pentecost – BIRTHDAY OF THE CHURCH

Spirits - the feast of Pentecost

Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles in Jerusalem, 50 days after the Resurrection of Christ. Also called the Feast of Pentecost, and marks the end of the Easter time.

Sermons – Don Mario

The descent of the Holy Spirit marked the solemn beginning of the Church because on that day, according to the Book of Acts, apostles filled with the Holy Spirit began to speak in other languages, so that they could understand the people of all nations and languages, a crowd “gave baptized and received the Holy Spirit”.

On the Sunday of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles, They were given gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts help them fulfill their mission, and that is to preach the Gospel to all nations. To us these gifts, the sacrament of confirmation, help us to live the Christian life, that we live in Christ, Christ in us. Over the Church with a thousand cultures, language and race, pours out the Spirit, which is the root of unity, and a wealth of internal church. All the nations that are present in the Church, cultural and linguistic diversity, listen to the same message of Christ and profess the same faith.

Name of ghosts in the Croatian language comes from the liturgy. He does a lot of ghosts, but the rest of the old name “The ghosts of days”.

Papa Ivan Pavao II. issued 1986. The encyclical on the Holy Spirit which was given the title after this formula of Mass Belief "Dominum et Vivificantem - Lord and giver of life". It wanted the Catholic faithful to prepare for responsible completion of the second millennium and prolific enter the third millennium of Christianity. In the third part of this encyclical develops life-giving role of the Spirit in the Church which acts through the sacraments of faith, renewing the inner man and the whole Church makes the sacrament of salvation in the concrete human history.
